Nov 15, 2008 - You're obviously italian. Italy had a great team, no doubt. But to say that the italian players were far superior to the brazilians? To *this* brazilian team? On top of that, you say that Dino was very bad at this game. When this was indeed one of his best games. FUCKING LOL!!!
montelatici Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - "But to say that the italian players were far superior to the brazilians?" They were far superior. That is why they won the World Cup.

Nov 16, 2008 - Indeed the cup is Italian, nobody's denying that. But that Italy had a better team, that's completely debatable. Football is weird like that, the results are unpredictable. Brasil could've had a better team and still lost, and it's valid to have such an opinion. Personally, I'm saddened we lost with such an amazing team. But the holes in our defense show, and Italy took advantage of it.

Nov 16, 2008 - Totally agree with your comment mate and I am Irish. I hate all this Brazil bullshit from FIFA. Lets take a strategic look at thw World Cup in Korea/Japan in 2002. Italy and Spain were completely robbed by the officials in their matches with the host nation South Korea. Brazil, as a consequence played no one of substance. The results of the tournament were a farce
Pippiter Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Brilliant game but Brazil come unstuck that day they could'nt defend.
z3r Says:
Nov 19, 2008 - Brazil have the "Im Brazilian sometime i think too much..if i play without thinking too much ,i win for sure" ...but they both have the "i enjoy play soccer". sorry for my english .

Nov 20, 2008 - i dont think italy was superior to brasil. itali played more like team together as they alwayes do, they played perfect game and remember italy had perfectly good goal ruled offside

Nov 22, 2008 - W zoff e Gentile

Nov 22, 2008 - Italy didn't deserve to beat S.Korea. Spain was definitely robbed.
FuShengAlex Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - lol@montelli...Tardelli was better midfielder than Zico? Hell no. Rossi was better than Serginho and that's not saying much because Serghino sucked. Careca was injured. Why don't you talk of the real reason Italy won, that dirty scumbag Gentile. e hacked the shit outta Maradona in the game before, and ripped Zico's shirt in half on a scoring chance in the penalty box in this match and deserved a red card for his antics. Zoff should've stopped the 1st goal, but in all he played great.

Nov 25, 2008 - For me, this was the greatest Azzurri squad! even better than 2006! There was something magical about that team!! It was perfection!

Nov 26, 2008 - Italy's triumph back in '82 and just back in '06 were very different. Italy's squad back in '82 had to have been stronger than the one of '06 because the in the '82 tournament, Italy had to run into Brazil, Argentina, and Germany in the same tournament. Back then, those TWO out of those three nations were stronger than they ever were.
OmnipotentCarbon60 Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Italy in '82 did a terrific job to prevail victorious but it's not to say they didn't do a great job in '06. It's just that in the '06 tournament, they had an easier route to take on (except for Germany and France). Compare the routes, Italy in '82 had to deal with all Brazil, Argentina, and Germany and managed, not to mention very well. THINK ABOUT THAT, lol.
OmnipotentCarbon60 Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - A lot of people tend to disrespect Italy for some odd reasons which never make any sense, and to be honest, those of you who do that, you're only making yourselves sound more and more stupid every time. Italy has always been one of the 8 giants. Uruguay would be the ninth but they seem to have folded out over the years. Italy will always have the "beautiful game" in them.
OmnipotentCarbon60 Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Now, to say Italy is great and they'll defend their current title is going overboard a bit. To accomplish that sort of thing is very hard to do, so nobody should expect it. However, if you're watching this video now, you also looking at the two teams, the only two teams in history to have ever won two consecutive World Cup titles in a row.
OmnipotentCarbon60 Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Italy did it in '34 and '38 while Brazil did it in '58 and '62. So yeah, for those of you who hate (are jealous of) Italy, too bad, because they truly are one of the best nations on Earth in this fine sport and will always be whether you like it or not, lol.
horophim Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Brazil was amazingly strong on the names, and they showed all their class in the action of their first goal (beside there was a goalkeeper mistake) But they had 2 great problems: 1)They were too arrogant, they just needed a draw but went full onward because they were Brazil, leaving highways for italian's counteattacks 2)Defence is part of football, and many disrespect Italy because we master it, and think this isn't a beautiful play. All of the 3 goals were embarassing for the brazilian defence
horophim Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - And if Brazil was terrifing with Zico Socrates and Falcao, but Italy was monstrous with their defence. Zoff: Best goalkeeper of that time and one of the best of all times along with Buffon, Peuzzi, Zenga and Pagliuca Collovati, Cabrini Scirea: The best sweeper of all times along with Baresi And Gentile: just impassable, for reference ask Maradona on the previous match when he didn't touch a ball
AUSTALY Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - yeah you may be right but we were robbed in that game and i for one will never ever forgive that referee
horophim Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - I'm a Juventus fan, I don't say we lost the champion's league in '98 because of a goal in offside, we lost it because we played bad. You lost the match because your defence line came out from Captain Tsubasa, and you let us 3 goals. The second goal is hard to see even in a third division match. If you can't defend you can't say you can play football
giovpoto Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - Italy the best 4 ever
montelatici Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - "I dont think italy was superior to brasil." Of course Italy was supeiror. Italy beat Argentina, Brazil and Germany to win the World Cup in 1982. Can you imagine any other team winning against such teams to win the World Cup? The Italian win in 2006 was easy, only Germany and France as competition.
